Water Reclamation Strategy: Saudi Arabia
Project Summary
Saudi Arabia's arid climate and increasing industrial activity necessitate sustainable water management solutions. As Waterist, in this project developed for one of the region's largest petrochemical facilities, we aimed to maximize wastewater recovery for reuse as process water.
Using advanced membrane technologies and integrated automation systems, a hybrid treatment model approaching zero liquid discharge (ZLD) was designed and successfully commissioned. The project reduced the facility's dependence on freshwater sources by 75%.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) Units - Main Gallery
Technological Solution
The heart of the system consists of Ultrafiltration (UF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) stages specifically designed to treat industrial wastewater with a high pollution load. Additionally, salt recovery is achieved by processing the RO concentrate through evaporation and crystallization units.
